Founder Story
Hi. I'm Clay. I have been fortunate to serve my country, travel the world, and work alongside remarkable people solving complex problems.
During my time flying the E/A-18G, I experienced firsthand how emerging technologies like augmented reality could improve understanding, decision-making, and mission effectiveness.
That experience sparked a broader question: if these technologies can help military operators navigate complexity, how can they help people in every industry do the same?
Technology is becoming increasingly capable, but capability alone is not enough. The challenge is ensuring that information remains understandable, knowledge remains accessible, and people remain at the center of the systems they depend on.
Humana Machina, Latin for "human-machine," was founded to explore and develop practical ways for humans and machines to work together more effectively. Our focus is not technology for its own sake. It is helping organizations create clarity, preserve expertise, improve decision-making, and prepare for the future of work.
We believe the most powerful technologies are the ones that help people understand more, do more, and work with greater confidence.
